DC Universe Infinite Heroes
After his parents were murdered, young Dick Grayson was adopted by Bruce Wayne, becoming his ward...and, as the first Robin the Boy Wonder, his partner in the war against crime. Years later, Robin struck out on his own as NIghtwing and now lives in the corruption ridden city of Bludhaven where by day he serves as a member of that ciry's police department.

In the Comics and MediaEdit
Dick Grayson was part of a family of circus acrobats known as "the Flying Graysons". When the circus owner refused to pay protection money to Tony Zucco, Zucco arranged an "accident" in the Graysons' trapeze, which resulted in the death of Dick's parents. Bruce Wayne felt empathy with the kid's loss, so adopted him and eventually revealed him his identity as Batman. After some training, Dick became Robin, Batman's kid sidekick.
Robin met Aqualad, Kid Flash, Speedy and Wonder Girl and formed the Teen Titans. The Titans changed formation several times, and Dick would eventually meet Starfire when the Titans saved her from the Gordanians.
At some point, Dick decided he had outgrown the "boy wonder" and couldn't work with Batman and the Titans at the same time, so he left the Robin costume and remained with the Titans as an advisor. However, when the Titans were caught by a trap of the Terminator, Dick took a new costume and identity to save them, and became Nightwing.
